Sound Meisters are expert practitioners of the art of sound. They feel the passion embedded in every musical performance and recreate it with stunning accuracy. Sensing the subtle emotions expressed in every note — aware of the artist’s every breath — they shape the sound with such realism that it seems that every performance is taking place right in front of you.
Immersive experience born of Yamaha’s expertise
Based on acoustic technology cultivated by Yamaha for decades, their audio engineers developed a dedicated Digital Signal Processor (DSP). What’s more, extensive musical insight — gained from acoustic designs of concert halls and theaters — made Yamaha ideally qualified to partner with MITSUBISHI MOTORS engineers and overcome the unique challenges of acoustics in interiors of moving vehicles.
DSP tuned for optimal sound
Yamaha’s proprietary Digital Signal Processor (DSP) features a tuning system optimized for in-vehicle audio and incorporates the acoustic technology developed for concert halls. Working freely, Sound Meisters achieved optimal tuning for each type of audio output and for each seating position within the vehicle.

Inheriting the technology of the NS-5000
Based on the ZYLON® diaphragm of Yamaha’s flagship NS-5000 speaker, they developed their own high-performance diaphragm and incorporated it into the system’s midrange speaker and woofer. This facilitates the faithful reproduction of the performer’s emotional expression and artistic intent, providing an exceptional musical experience for listeners.

Located in front of the listeners, a three-way configuration – including a midrange speaker capable of reproducing a wide frequency range– ensures that instruments in the middle range are reproduced with breathtaking accuracy directed toward listeners’ ears. Precision-designed tweeters and woofers, complete the frequency soundscape, presenting a truly immersive musical experience.
Twelve speakers ensure that every sound is exceptional
Tuned with expert efficiency by the Sound Meisters at the 12-speaker configuration creates a dynamic sound space that fills the entire vehicle. In essence, the interior becomes a private concert hall, with acoustic properties that maintain the most exacting standards of audio excellence for any musical genre.
Featuring a larger diameter and reinforced magnetic circuits, the three midrange speakers bring a new level of realism to vocals and instruments – faithfully reproducing the all-important midrange frequencies. Located in the top of the dashboard, they effectively convey the passion of each performance.
Dual amplifiers create the perfect balance between music and driving
With one amplifier for the low range and another dedicated to the mid/high range, a clearer and more accurate sound fidelity is achieved. Fully digital transmission minimizes any signal-related degradation. And by increasing the wire diameter of the audio power supply and speaker harness, resistance is reduced, further enhancing the clean, powerful sound.
Special door panels bring out the beauty of bass
On the inner panel of the doors, installation holes are sealed with resin to block extraneous sounds behind the speakers. Damping and reinforcement materials – including additional welds and vibration-damping weights – are added, giving the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (Ultimate Version) 1.5 times the panel rigidity of the previous model. As a result, the powerful yet refined bass is even more substantial and expressive.

Speed Compensated Volume (SCV)
As speed increases, so does ambient noise. SCV automatically adjusts the volume to compensate. Beyond that, it modifies the equalization or tonal quality of the music, adjusting the sound frequencies most affected. You can choose from five settings that correspond to various noise levels. Even at high speeds or on rough roads, you’ll hear every note and enjoy every nuance of the music you love.
Rain Compensated Volume (RCV)
The noise made by rain will not compromise your listening experience. With two settings based on external noise levels, RCV adjusts volume and equalization, staying in sync with the wipers and ensuring clear sound even during heavy rain.
Air-Conditioner Compensated Volume (ACV)
This exclusive MITSUBISHI MOTORS function adjusts volume and equalization based on sounds associated with the air conditioning — taking into account airflow and vent selection — so the music remains as cool as you are.
